The chartreuse (manor house) was built between 1730 and 1734. Ch\u00e2teau La Lagune entered the very exclusive circle of Grands Crus Class\u00e9s in 1855. The famous geologist Ren\u00e9 Pijassou regarded the estate as the model of the M\u00e9doc \u201cisland\u201d.
