Confiscated during the Revolution, the estate was acquired in 1840 by L\u00e9on Colin. The Chantecaille family succeeded him and for many years helped to develop and structure the estate, before it was taken over in 2010 by the Pichet group. A major phase of modernisation accompanied this new chapter, notably with the construction of a contemporary winery inaugurated in 2016, designed by Philippe Starck and Luc Ars\u00e8ne-Henry. The vineyard covers around ten hectares with diverse geology. The estate\u2019s grape varieties give a prominent place to Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines of Ch\u00e2teau Les Carmes Haut-Brion stand out for their elegance and complexity.
