It stands as an outpost at the southern entrance to Saint-\u00c9milion, between the hills of Ausone and Pavie. Here, time is counted not in years but in centuries: the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa said to have belonged to the poet Ausone have been found on the site. The Malet Roquefort family (today Count L\u00e9o de Malet Roquefort) has been established here since the 17<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>century.
