In 1855, Ch\u00e2teau Lafon-Rochet entered the classification of Grands Crus Class\u00e9s, among the 61 ch\u00e2teaux of the Bordeaux region. In 1960, Guy Tesseron became the owner of the ch\u00e2teau. The 41 hectares of vineyard cover two ridges (croupes) of Saint-Est\u00e8phe. The gravel provides excellent natural drainage, and the clay regulates water by meeting the needs of the vines.
