The estate was passed down through the generations and is now run by the Merlaut family. Classified Deuxi\u00e8me Grand Cru in 1855, it has established itself as a benchmark of the Saint-Julien appellation. The vineyard covers approximately 82 hectares in a single block of deep Quaternary gravel over a clay-limestone subsoil. This configuration, combined with a favourable climate, ensures good soil drainage and even ripening of the grapes. The grape varieties are mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines, planted at high density, contribute to the quality and concentration of the grapes. The estate is committed to an environmental approach, with conversion to organic farming and the adoption of biodynamically inspired practices aimed at preserving the natural balance of the vineyard.
