Then as now, Montrose stands out for the quality of its wines, their assertive style and their international reputation. The vineyard covers 95 hectares in a single block, a rare configuration in the M\u00e9doc. Located right beside the Gironde estuary, it lies on terraces of gravel mixed with sand on the surface, while the subsoil consists of deep clay. This exceptional terroir, often described as a true \u201celite core\u201d, gives the vines ideal conditions for producing great Saint-Est\u00e8phe wines, at once powerful, precise and able to age for decades. Throughout its history, the spirit of Ch\u00e2teau Montrose has remained deeply marked by the quest for excellence.
