Vines are recorded there as early as the 15th century. This 6.80-hectare estate was long linked to the Duffau-Lagarrosse family, who passed on their expertise there for nearly 170 years. The vineyard lies on a limestone slope whose subsoil contains a network of quarries. This relief and this rock form the foundation of the cru\u2019s personality. The underground galleries are also used for ageing, extending the link between the architecture of the site and the making of the wine. In 2021, the Courtin family acquired the estate and began a new chapter alongside Jos\u00e9phine Duffau-Lagarrosse, oenologist and representative of the ninth generation of the family. With Prisca Courtin, she is careful to preserve the estate\u2019s identity while pursuing the changes needed for its future. Continuity of transmission remains at the heart of this project. The wines of Beaus\u00e9jour seek an expression in which substance comes with finesse and freshness. Their balance rests on a deep structure, without heaviness, and on an ability to evolve over many years.
