Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“This is showing aromas of black currants, dried herbs, paprika, orange zest and tobacco leaves. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained, polished tannins. Silky, elegant and long. 70% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 10% petit verdot. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink after 2024.”
In 1525, the “Village de La Lagune” was built. The chartreuse (manor house) was built between 1730 and 1734. Château La Lagune entered the very exclusive circle of Grands Crus Classés in 1855. The famous geologist René Pijassou regarded the estate as the model of the Médoc “island”. Its soils of light gravel and silica help to give the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot their grace, balance and finesse alike, characteristic of the wines produced by Caroline Frey, owner with her family since 2000.
