Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“A lovely Margaux that shows depth of fruit but also approachability. Fresh currants, dark olives, berries and roasted spices on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a dusty, melted finish. Seamless and well made. Approachable now, but better in two more years.”
In the heart of the Margaux appellation, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Château Marquis de Terme embodies the elegance and finesse characteristic of the fine wines of the Médoc. Since 1935, the estate has been owned by the Sénéclauze family, who take care to preserve the identity of the estate and the signature of its wines. The vineyard covers around 40 hectares on a central plateau made up of gravel ridges typical of the Margaux appellation. The grape varieties reflect the Médoc tradition, with a predominance of Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wines of Château Marquis de Terme are characterised by their harmonious structure and refined aromatic expression. They reveal silky textures and fine density, while retaining the freshness and delicacy characteristic of the appellation.
