Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“Aromas of plums, elderberries, graphite, dark olives, chocolate and touches of blueberries and cedar. The palate is round and velvety, medium- to full-bodied, with excellent definition from chalky tannins and freshness that complements its seamless yet precise texture. Serious and harmonious. From organically grown grapes. Already enjoyable with some aeration, but needs at least a couple of years of cellaring. 100% merlot. Drink after 2027.”
The history of Château Peby Faugères dates back to the 16th century, when the Esquissaud family decided to acquire the vineyards of Châteaux Faugères and Péby Faugères. Several owners followed one another until Silvio Denz took over this magnificent estate in 2005. In 2012, Château Peby Faugères became a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion. Constantly seeking perfection, Silvio Denz surrounded himself with the best: with the help of the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland and his team, he turned this small, exceptional cru into a unique wine!
