Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“The 2021 Durfort Vivens has turned out well in bottle, offering up aromas of dark berries and plums mingled with notions of pencil shavings and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, layered and lively, it exhibits impressive depth and sweetness of fruit, not only for the vintage but also for a blend dominated by fully 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, concluding with a long, precise finish.”
It was in the 14th century that the Durfort de Duras family settled here, later giving its name to Château Durfort-Vivens. In 1824, the Vicomte de Vivens added his name to the château. The manual work carried out in the vineyard gives this Grand Cru all the richness and complexity that characterise it. In its approach of preserving and respecting the soil and subsoil, Château Durfort-Vivens stands out as an exceptional terroir. The conservation of the terroir and the perfect harmony between nature and man promise nobility to this wine.
