Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“A dense, chocolaty and focused red showing generous fruit and bark on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with ripe, chewy tannins. Textural, with nice concentration and a long, vivid, flavorful finish.”
Antoinette de Guillemotes owned Domaine Rochet; she married Etienne de Lafon, and the estate was thus renamed Château Lafon-Rochet in the 17th century. In 1855, Château Lafon-Rochet entered the classification of Grands Crus Classés, among the 61 châteaux of the Bordeaux region. In 1960, Guy Tesseron became the owner of the château. The 41 hectares of vineyard cover two ridges (croupes) of Saint-Estèphe. The gravel provides excellent natural drainage, and the clay regulates water by meeting the needs of the vines. Since 2021, the Lorenzetti family, also owners of Château Pédesclaux and Château Lilian-Ladouys, have been the new owners.
