“This is very powerful and rich, with layers of fruit and loads of fine tannins that are silky and caressing, reminiscent of Napa. It's full and intense with plums, chocolate and lots of redcurrants. This is a wine that harks back to the early 2000s. Juicy and flavorful. Pure merlot. Best after 2028.”
The Estate
The history of Château Peby Faugères dates back to the 16th century, when the Esquissaud family decided to acquire the vineyards of Châteaux Faugères and Péby Faugères. Several owners followed one another until Silvio Denz took over this magnificent estate in 2005. In 2012, Château Peby Faugères became a Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion. Constantly seeking perfection, Silvio Denz surrounded himself with the best: with the help of the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland and his team, he turned this small, exceptional cru into a unique wine!
