Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“The aromas to this are phenomenal with oyster shell, blackberries, iodine and black truffles. Full-bodied, layered and so refined and intense. Love the texture and intensity. Chalky. Amazing. Goes on for minutes. Try in 2023.”
Owned by the Gratiot family, who have entrusted its management to Nicolas Thienpont and David Suire since 2002, as well as to the teams of Stéphane Derenoncourt, Larcis Ducasse is a cru that counts in Saint-Émilion, having regained its former splendour. Indeed, after considerable efforts both in the vineyard and in the cellar, it was promoted to the rank of 1ergrand cru classé B in 2012. This 11.15 ha vineyard is located in the commune of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, within the historic boundaries of the plateau and the great slope (côte) of Saint-Émilion, at the end of the famous Côte Pavie.
