Critics’ scores and tasting notes
« Nez subtil de coing, de zeste de citron, d'orange, d'épices et de fruits tropicaux. Vin ample et équilibré, fruité et épicé, à la texture veloutée. Finale savoureuse et persistante. À déguster après 2024. »
Premier Grand Cru Classé de Sauternes in 1855, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a very old wine estate on the heights of Bommes, in the heart of the Sauternais. The vineyard covers 36 hectares on a high gravel terrace close to Château d’Yquem. It is planted with 93% Sémillon, 6% Sauvignon and 1% Muscadelle. The historic plots of L’Enclos and the Maisons Rouges lie on Quaternary gravel deposited on an Aquitanian limestone substrate. Owned by Silvio Denz since 2014, the château also links its identity to Lalique: René Lalique’s “Femme et Raisins” engraving has adorned its bottles since the 2016 vintage.
