Critics’ scores and tasting notes
“Matured 40% in barrels (50% new), 45% in large-format barrels (also 50% new) and the balance in foudres, the 2025 Larcis Ducasse reveals an elegant, vibrant and gourmand bouquet of violet, dark berries, dark cherries and flowers, accented by delicate spicy notes. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it’s built around a ripe—yet not overripe—core of fruit framed by velvety tannins, concluding with a floral, harmonious and ethereal finish. This is a pure expression of Larcis Ducasse and one of the most accomplished renditions produced here to date.”
Owned by the Gratiot family, who have entrusted its management to Nicolas Thienpont and David Suire since 2002, as well as to the teams of Stéphane Derenoncourt, Larcis Ducasse is a cru that counts in Saint-Émilion, having regained its former splendour. Indeed, after considerable efforts both in the vineyard and in the cellar, it was promoted to the rank of 1ergrand cru classé B in 2012. This 11.15 ha vineyard is located in the commune of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, within the historic boundaries of the plateau and the great slope (côte) of Saint-Émilion, at the end of the famous Côte Pavie.
