“Fine spices, currants, plums and a hint of bay leaf. Juicy and fine-grained on the palate with a medium body and an elegant, fine-grained finish with good length. A little light, but appealing for early drinking. Drink now.”
The Estate
A prominent figure from Pomerol who passed away in 2013, Catherine Péré-Vergé, heiress to the Arques crystal factories, operated three Pomerol estates that she brought to the top: Montviel, acquired in 1985, Le Gay, well located on the Pomerol plateau, and the small-scale cru (1.68 ha) La Violette, complemented by La Gravière in Lalande. Today, these estates are run by her son Henri Parent.
